Fact of the matter is that we're only human and the beliefs that people have about vegetarians are only right to a certain extent. Some vegetarians are in the lifestyle because they want to be healthy, others use it as a diet to lose weight, some do it for health issues, and some (like me) just really love animals. So there's MANY reasons to be a vegetarian, which means that we all say "yes" and "no" to different things.
Just like fashion blogger and fellow vegetarian, Marlena, an occasional leather pair of shoes can be acceptable, but she'd rather get them thrifted than brand new. Read more about her here...
A vegetarian that chose this lifestyle for animals can own a wool sweater or a silk dress. Why do they think it's okay to wear real animal skin &/ or fur? Try to see this in an open-minded perspective, but the animal has already passed away and there is nothing that can be done to save them. Some people think of the idea as repulsive, but others see it more openly. Even so, most of the vegetarians and vegans who wear these garments don't buy them often. For more info on real animal skins, furs, and their alternatives, read my two previous posts: Shopping Nightmares: What really is vegan clothing? and Faux Fashion: Is it worth wearing?
