Knowing what certain food labels mean really comes in handy because ingredients are given different names that we don't always understand. However, vegan options have grown recently with a large amount of people trying to be healthier and watch what they eat.
Vegan burger patties, vegan lasagna, vegan chicken, vegan fish, vegan cake, vegan mayo, and many other foods are now available. There is now an alternative for almost every type of meat. Yet, the healthiest thing to do is stick to natural, unprocessed foods: vegetables, legumes, fruits, and grains.
Things to Look Out For: Since vegans can't eat eggs or dairy products, you should find alternatives for calcium, protein, and iron. For example: broccoli, spinach, black beans, lentils. Do not stuff yourself with vegetables either, learn to mix certain ingredients to make delicious and healthy meals that will also fill you up. Do NOT eat more processed foods like frozen foods/ dinners!! Vegan bbq ribs won't give you the nutrients you need like a home-made stuffed bell pepper. Always make time for exercise and don't take vitamin supplements, you don't need them!
